The Health Museum, an interactive health science museum located in the Houston Museum District, is hosting their annual Siege of the Skeletons competition featuring Skele-brity themed spooky creations by the Houston community.
The public is invited to create skeletons of their favorite deceased celebrities and pop culture icons by transforming them into whimsical, bone-chilling versions of themselves. All entry submissions will be on display at The Health Museum mid-October through early November.
Entry categories include schools and the general public as designated below: School Categories are open to public, private, and home schools. A school official must sponsor all school entries and schools are encouraged to create their own competition at their campuses for Elementary (Gr. PK-5), Middle (Gr. 6-8), and High School (Gr. 9-12).
The Open Category is for individuals and organizations of any type that do not fit the school category. Examples include but are not limited to community or religious groups, sports teams, clubs, businesses, families, neighbors, or even a group of friends.
A parent/guardian must sponsor all entries for individuals under 18 years of age.
Entry submissions are now open and the last day to submit an entry is October 15, 2024. Approved submissions will be dropped off at the Museum between October 15-18, 2024 and the exhibit will open to the public on October 22, 2024. All entries must be picked up following the close of the exhibition on November 4, 2024.

The Health Museum will also host a free and fun night of trunk or treating on October 31, 2024 from 5-8 p.m. as community partners deck out their cars with wickedly cool decorations and hand out treats. The Health Museum offers the perfect way to celebrate the spooky season in a safe and super fun way.

General admission to The Health Museum is $12 for ages 13 and older; $10 for children 3 to 12 years old and seniors 65 and above; free for children two and younger; and free admission for everyone on Thursdays from 2 – 7 p.m. General admission provides access to the Museum’s multiple exhibits. Through the Museums for All program, guests can visit The Health Museum for a minimal fee of $3 per general admission ticket, for up to four people, with the presentation of a SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the Museum participates in the Blue Star Museum program, which allows active military members and their families free admission to the Museum. They are also a member of the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC).
