April showers brings good cooking…

I love, love, love the April publication which we refer to as our “Memorial Foodie Zone” issue. Being our 3rd annual home-cooked edition, we’ll introduce you to five Memorial chefs and restauranteurs to learn what makes their restaurants sizzle! Speaking of food, its crawfish season, and we know how Houston loves those Mud Bugs. On page 44, we have a few recommendations if you are looking for some Cajun cooking in the Memorial area.
On page 21 meet the Buyers, sponsors and winners the 48th Annual Spring Branch FFA Show & Sale honoring the Grand Champions and Reserve Champions along with the sponsors who made it such huge a success! These students work so hard year-round and we think they are Swoonworthy!!
Do you want to know when the Astros are playing and what are the special promotions and giveaways happening in April? We Kick off the season with a super fun Astros section, because as you know, our amazing team is back and hoping to go all the way this year.
Recently, a gentle herd of therapy ponies stood quietly on the campus of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church as children dipped their fingers and brushes into paint, carefully striping their soft coats. By the end of the afternoon, the ponies had been transformed into zebras to represent the rare disease community. It was all in honor of one little girl, Kate McKie. Read all about it in our Kids section on page 27. As you know, our community has been navigating an unthinkable season of grief. The loss of so many neighbors in the Camp Mystic tragedy has altered the fabric of our community forever. Meet Noah Welker — an eighth grader at Spring Branch Middle School who chose to run not for recognition, but to stand alongside family friends who have endured unimaginable loss. Read his story on page 29. Then on page 37, Luxury Real Estate Advisor Holly Campbell Minter shares “The Art of Editing – Creating a Feeling Buyers Can’t Resist”. and finally on page 45, we introduce you to Alex Morrow & Emma Shields, the ladies behind Control Six Pilates at 12653 Memorial Drive.
Now that the pollen is on its way out, it is officially Spring so Happy Easter, Earth Day and get outside to golf, go on a long walk and count down the days till summer!
Sincerely,
