April showers bring May Flowers…
I love, love, love this issue which we affectionately call “What’s On Memorial’s Menu”. This is our 2nd annual “foodie” issue and all of us here at Swoon Memorial are foodies so, we love it! In our feature you’ll meet some of Memorial’s premier chefs and restauranteurs and learn why their restaurants sizzle!
In our Noteworthy Neighbor section on page 23, Learn why Memorial residents join forces to grow hope for juvenile diabetes research foundation (jdrf). Then, in our Memorial Kids section on page 31, we introduce you to Chloe Ranger, a current Junior at Spring Woods High School is an active change-maker in the community, serving as a community foster with Furry Friends Animal Aid and avid volunteer at the Houston SPCA. You can read all about her on page 31. On page 33, The Memorial Farmer’s Market will be holding a Ladybug release at their April Market. Learn how this helps our environment and why you should bring the kids to this fun event.
Are you an Astros Fan? This month we have a super fun Astros section starting on page 41. As you know our amazing team is back slugging away and we are hoping they go all the way this year! In this special section we bring you the April schedule, some cute Astros gear we found around Houston and give you a few clues on all the amazing giveaways and specials in happening in April! On page 57, the SBISD FFA is honoring all the winners, buyers and sponsors of this years show and sale. These students work year-round and their hard work is what makes this show such a success! We congratulate them all and we think they are all Swoonworthy!!
Finally in the A little Piece of History section You will learn how B.A. Shephard made his mark on our Great City. Now that the pollen is on its way out, it is officially Spring, so get outside and golf, go on a long walk or just go have some good old family fun!
