TO SHOWCASE PALATABLE BLENDING OF CULTURES
Casa Kenji, a Latin-Japanese restaurant, recently opened in Houston’s Montrose/River Oaks corridor at 3201 Allen Parkway, Suite E110. The new culinary hotspot is located in the former Andiron space, but will now offer guests more than 2,850-square-feet of beautifully designed outdoor space to dine and lounge a terraza. Inspired by the flavors, textures, and precision of Japanese cuisine, layered with vibrant Latin influence, Casa
Kenji brings a meticulously crafted, high-energy dining experience to one of Houston’s most dynamic neighborhoods.
The fresh concept is co-founded by Bigler Cruz, John “B-John” Ballis, and Malachi DuPre. Malachi, a former LSU teammate and longtime friend of Ballis, is the creator behind New Orleans’ acclaimed Kenji and Kenji Kazoku restaurants. Casa Kenji builds on the established Kenji legacy while “Casa” pays homage to its Latin roots—coming together as a distinctive expression of both cuisines. His distinctive approach, and two decades of sushi experience, flawlessly blends Japanese methodology with bold, expressive Latin flavors while incorporating fire-driven cooking elements that add depth, smoke, and texture throughout the menu. Casa Kenji’s identity is built upon Cruz’s foundational belief that every plate, or cocktail, tells a distinctive story.
